This is courtesy reminder that the H.I RnR AGM 2024 is on tomorrow evening in the Community Hall at 7pm.

2024/25 nominations received for Committee and President roles are attached below with a summary of which previous Committee Members are standing again. Please review in preparation for voting in our 2024/25 elections.

AGM 2024 AGENDA RELEASE and DISTRIBUTION OF of AMENDED CONSTITUTION
Dear Members,
We are pleased to announce that the agenda for the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is now available for your review. Please click on the button below to view the Agenda.
UPDATE OF CONSTITUTION: - Member Vote required
This year’s AGM will include an important vote on proposed updates to our constitution to ensure our society complies with the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
To help you understand these updates, we have prepared a document outlining the main changes that are required under the new Act. This document allows you to compare our current constitution with the proposed new version, with the understanding of the adjustments made to align with the new legal standards.
The proposed constitution includes improvements in areas such as membership rules, officer duties, dispute resolution, financial reporting, and governance. Please click through the buttons below to view the required information.
We strongly encourage all members to read through the document before attending the AGM and come prepared to vote on adopting the new constitution in its entirety. If we do not pass this amendment at AGM 2024, our final opportunity to meet these compliance requirements will be at AGM 2025, the last year before the re-registration deadline.

This notice is further to the email below advising all members that nominations for H.I RnR Officers are now open.
If you would like to nominate another member to hold an Officers seat within the Herald Island Resident and Ratepayers Association, please make your nomination using the attached form.
ROLES OPEN FOR NOMINATION:

RULES FOR MAKING A NOMINATION:
You must be a current HIRnR Member to nominate.
The person you nominate must also be a current H.I RnR Member.
You can nominate as many Members as you like. (*submit a new form for each nomination).
You must have checked with them to confirm they are happy to be nominated.
You can nominate yourself.
The person you nominate must be willing to complete an Officers Consent Form and verify their eligibility to fill the role they are nominated for. (this form will be provided)
You must provide the name of a person who will "second" your nomination. (ie: someone who supports the nomination of this person)
You must state if the person you are nominating is being nominated for either President or Committeee Member.
Your nomination must be received 7 full days before the commencement of the AGM 2024

AGM 2024 ANNOUNCEMENT
This is a public announcement to let everyone know the Herald Island RnR Annual General Meeting (AGM 2024) is coming up next month.
This is the time for H.I residents and ratepayers to join the H.I RnR Association and have a say in the important decisions that get made within your community. The AGM will be followed by tea and coffee which is a great opportunity to meet and chat with the RnR Committee, and other island residents and ratepayers.
The AGM 2024 is open to all current Association Members, so if you are not a member and you would like to come along to have your say, please click the Member Application Form link below and complete your application to become a member.

Housekeeping notes:
An agenda will be sent out to all members in the coming weeks so you know what will be discussed at this years AGM and can be prepared to make an informed decision on any points requiring a member vote.
Nominations for Committee Members and President roles will be opened in the coming weeks. Nomination Forms will be sent out to members with the agenda. You will also find the Nomination Form on the AGM page of the Herald Island website under the Events tab. Please read the instructions on the form to ensure any nominations you make are valid.
When you attend the AGM, and provided you have completed a Membership Application Form and provided your consent, you become a registered member of the Herald Island Residents and Ratepayers Association for the following 2 year period.
You can become a member on the night of the AGM. Changes to the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 require that we now ask you to complete a Membership Application Form and consent to becoming a member. If you haven't done so already, please click the link above and complete this form prior to your attendance at the AGM.
There are no requirements for participation in RnR activities beyond the AGM, however we would love to hear your valued feedback as a resident or ratepayer and will be forwarding you any member relevant information and correspondence for your review during the year.
