Twin Wharf Road Repair Plan

TWIN WHARF ROAD REPAIR WORK

A fantastic meeting with both Fulton Hogan and Auckland Transport was conducted recently to discuss the repairs to be conducted on Twin Wharf Rd after the flooding impacted the area in January 2023.

The community consensus was to accept option 2 of the repair plan submitted by Fulton Hogan and AT at our most recent AGM on the 18 October 2023.

Members of our combined local committee network spanning the HIRnR, the Wharf Trust, Environmental Group, and the H.I Boat club, met with project managers from both Fulton Hogan and Auckland Transport to convey the community preferences and any additional important considerations to ensure that locals views were firmly factored into this repair plan.

The meeting was concluded with very positive results including confirmation on the repositioning of the stairway leading to and from the Pahiki Reserve to a safer position away from the roadway, improving the layout of the carpark area, and easing the blind corner heading into Twin Wharf Rd, with lots of lovely planting plans to go ahead once the works have completed.

Works are scheduled to commence Feb/March 2024 and will take approximately 45 days to complete. We will advise everyone of more firm dates when we receive them.

We know this could cause a little disruption for those of you living towards the Twin Wharf Rd end of the island, however these works are packed with many positive outcomes and will benefit yourselves and the whole community when completed. We just want to thank you in advance for your care and tolerance while these works are in progress.
